Operating as a highly regarded foot and ankle podiatry clinic, Highett Podiatry has developed a specialist clinic to focus on the dancer.
The Dance Clinic works with dancers from all fields and works in conjunction with other allied health professionals and doctors to ensure a holistic approach to a dancer’s recovery. Dance biomechanics plays a pivotal role in a dancer’s foot health and wellbeing, and with over 25 years of combined podiatry and dance experience, Kirstine and Sophie ensure they are right behind the dancer every step, pivot and jeté along the way.

Renowned throughout Melbourne for her work with dancers, Kirstine’s love of all dance styles from her own personal dance career, her daughter’s dancing and her role as a ballet teacher has helped build her credentials in the field of dance podiatry and medicine.
Her ‘Return to Dance’ program has been instrumental in building a collaborative environment with teachers, other allied health professionals, doctors and the dancer to achieve the best outcomes for each dancer.
SOPHIE YOUNG

As a current ballet student and qualified classical ballet teacher with the Commonwealth Society of Teachers Dancing, Sophie’s dance career and role as a clinical podiatrist puts her right in the centre of how a dancer feels and the type of physical and mental support the art demands.
Sophie knows the importance of working with a podiatrist from a young age and finds it inspiring to educate dancers as they progress through their levels to understand prevention is the best medicine.
